Sales and Support are based in Chesapeake, Virginia. All project management, system planning and technician dispatch is accomplished at this office and warehouse complex.  This central facility is located within one hour driving distance of most Hampton Roads locations.

    Trained Personnel: To fully support the demanding requirements of its many customers, Schick Communications has invested heavily in training, certification and specialized test equipment. Management, Field Engineers and Technicians have been factory certified to install and maintain Ericsson, Comdial and Iwatsu business telephone systems.  Specialized test equipment has also been purchased and calibrated for Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) and optical loss on fiber optic cables. For testing and certifying copper cables, industry-standard Agilent, Fluke and Wave-Tek cable scanners are used constantly.



    WARRANTY AND SERVICE
     
    Schick Communications provides a complete one (1) year labor and material warranty for all contract work. 

    In addition, as a Certified Panduit and Leviton Cabling System Program Partner, Schick Communications offers optional 15 year extended warranties on fiber and data cable installations from jack to jack. These comprehensive warranties are only available because all materials meet rigid design and fabrication guidelines and the installation personnel have been certified by the original equipment manufacturer to properly comply with Category 5, 5E and 6 standards. 

    The available 15 year warranty includes workmanship and materials. As a fully-qualified Panduit or Leviton Cabling System Program Partner, Schick Communications registers each qualifying project and is the primary point of contact in the event of any product failure. Only certified resellers are allowed to make these offers. 
     

    Follow-On Maintenance and Service.

    Maintenance and service is available on a time and materials basis at standard labor rates. Non-warranty installation work requested during other than normal business hours will be charged at 1.5 times the normal hourly rate. 
     

    Service Procedures.

    In the event of any covered system failure or failure of any covered system component, Schick Communications can be notified at (757) 548-1940. This number is answered and qualified technicians are available for dispatch 24-hours per day, 7-days per week, 365-days per year. Complete system failures will receive emergency service and a qualified technician will arrive and begin work within two hours. Individual component failure or failure of one cable run will be handled as priority service with guaranteed response by a qualified technician on the next business day (Monday through Friday, except holidays, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.). New installations will be classed as routine service and work will begin within five business days, usually less. 
     

    Normal Work Schedule.

    Regular work hours for new installations will occur during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, not including holidays. However, to complete projects with short delivery schedules, work may be carried out by multiple shifts working at any time of the day or night. Any work scheduled for other than normal business hours is always coordinated with the appropriate customer representative.
